Stop Smoking

The Stop Smoking Worker provides flexible and individually tailored support
to people that want support quitting smoking.

As part of their work, advisors help people who are trying to quit with issues
such as managing stress, healthy eating and nicotine replacement.
Support can be given in person, over the telephone, by text or email.

The Stop Smoking Worker can also attend community events to publicise
the benefits of stopping smoking.

Advice is FREE and friendly, and prescriptions can be arranged for patches
and other NRT and information is available on Zyban and Champix.

Client Group

Individuals aged 18+ living in Southey, Parson Cross, Shirecliffe & Longley
and Flowers, Stubbins, Shiregreen and Brushes

How often does this health promotion activity take place for how long?

All support is one to one, and will continue throughout your quit for up to
12 weeks.

A stop smoking drop in will be held every Tuesday, 1pm till 3pm in the
Health Room at SOAR, 11 Southey Hill.

Stop Smoking support provided on a Thursday in Flowers, Stubbins,
Shiregreen and Brushes
