SOAR Enterprises has secured planning permission for the SOAR Works Project. The new building will occupy the site of the former council works depot on Knutton Road behind Margetson Crescent. It will create space for local start-ups and small businesses, with offices, workshops and artists studios. A key aim of the development is to help local people start a new business by providing affordable accomodation and business support and advice. Individual units are clustered in two wings around an internal courtyard which will act as a social hub and provide space for a drop-in centre, where support services will be available for businesses not based in the building.
