Southey and Owlerton Area Regeneration

The SOAR theme groups are influence groups that were set up in 2000 as a result of certain ‘themes’ being identified by local people as key in the regeneration of the Southey & Owlerton area. These groups have evolved over the years in response to changing needs in the community and are now extremely diverse in the ways they operate. However, all the groups have a common goal of ensuring that local plans and priorities are driven by the needs of local people.
