Welcome to Southey and Owlerton Area Regeneration – a community-led regeneration partnership in north Sheffield. " Communities are strange things. SOAR aims to keep people in contact with one another and to make things happen. Through its local meetings, theme groups and the Board, subjects as varied as art, policing, youth provision, crime, the new community assemblies, transport, health and employment get covered and action gets taken. What is SOAR? SOAR stands for Southey Owlerton Area Regeneration. We cover 6 neighbourhoods, Foxhill, Longley, Parson Cross, Shirecliffe, Southey and Hillsborough/Winn Gardens. SOAR is a registered charity and a community organisation which means we are managed by a board of residents and local agencies which over see the work of SOAR. We also have a trading arm called SOAR Enterprises. What does SOAR do?We secure funding from the council and other organisations to deliver projects which benefit the residents of Southey Owlerton.
