Employment Advisors
SOAR is contracted with A4e to deliver the governments new Work Programme. This programme can be accessed by long term jobseekers referred through A4e.
Your first meeting is with your employment advisor, who will be your main point of contact throughout your journey. At this stage they will focus on getting to know you. You will chat about where you are, and more importantly where you want to be. You will complete some questions, which will help form your Employment Plan. At all times you will be supported by your advisor to make sure your journey is as productive as possible.
Once your Employment Plan has been agreed, you will take part in activities that you have discussed with your advisor. They will keep in touch with you through regular meetings and calls to see how you are doing and make sure you have the support you need, to search for suitable job vacancies and enhance the skills you need in preparing for work.
The ongoing support also continues once you enter employment. Your advisor wil always be on hand to offer advice whenever you need it and will continue to support you until you are totally confident in your new life.
If for any reason you are unable to continue in your employment, we will begin the programme again and get you back on track.

Work Club
The SOAR Work Club is for people who are unemployed and on work related benefits but not participating in the mandatory Work Programme.
The Work Club covers Shiregreen, Ecclesfield, Stocksbridge and Chapeltown and surrounding areas.
You can access help and support to:
- Increase employability skills
- Build self-esteem and confidence
- Job search and employment opportunities
- Develop a CV
- Learn interview techniques
- Complete application forms
