HEALTH - ADVICE & GUIDANCE
SOAR provides free professional 1-1 Advice & Guidance sessions to help breakdown barriers to improving people’s health, wellbeing and employability.
All financial & social inclusion services provided by SOAR and its partners are independent from statutory organizations and service provider agencies; ensuring SOAR is best able to act on people’s wishes and interests.
Advocacy Worker
SOARs team of Advocacy workers provide short term issue based advocacy which broadly means; “we can speak up for someone about a particular issue, or speak up for them to help them through a crisis", such as:
- Care & support
- Housing or finances
- Any issues affecting independence and quality of life
Where & When?
Support can be given in person, over the telephone, by text or email and will continue throughout an agreed support plan.
Weekly Advocacy support sessions are held at the following locations:
- Palgrave GP Surgery, Southey*
- Buchanan Rd GP Surgery, Parson Cross*
- Foxhill Medical Centre, Foxhill*
- Ecclesfield GP Surgery*
Note. *Individuals need to registered with relevant GP surgery
Debt Advice
SOAR in partnership with Foxhill & Parson Cross Advice Service provides a Debt Referral Scheme aimed at reducing the level of stress and anxiety caused by the burden of debt.
Debt Advisors can help:
- Deal with peoples creditors on their behalf
- Reduce peoples monthly outgoings
- Advise people of the best strategy for dealing with their debt
- Give people back control of their finances
